ROME & SOUTH CLASSIC AND CATHOLIC 9 DAYS ITINERAY
NAPLES-POMPEI-SORRENTO-CAPRI-SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO-LORETO & LANCIANO

Day 1 - Arrival
A motor coach with professional tour escort will be waiting for the group upon arrival at Rome's international airport while traveling towards Rome, your will have a stop at the Basilica of St. Paul outside the walls for a guide visit the group will transferred to the hotel for room allocation at your hotel.
Dinner and overnight.

Day 2 - Catacombs / Ancient & Classic Rome
After breakfast transfer by coach to the ancient Apian way you will travel and part walk a well preserved section of the ancient way. You will see Circus Maximum, Caracalla Baths, Tomb of Cecilia Metella, Chapel of Domine Quo Vadis and Circus Maxentius stop to visit Catacombus of San Sebastain.
The tours proceed with a walk through the very core of Roman antiquity. You'll see Trajan's Market, Nero's Golden house, Trajan's Forum and column, arch of Costanine, house of knights of Rodhes. Visit Mamertine Prison, Where St. Peter was held prisoner, and continue your visit with Roman Forum, that was the civic heart of republican Rome. This area one was filled with magnificent buildings.
Among which you can see the ruins of Temple of Vespasian, Curia and Temple o Vests where the vestal virgin kept the sacre flame alive.
We continue along the via dei Fori imperiali, to see arch of Titus, the Emperor who destroyed Jerusalem in A.D. 70. This tour ends with the visit of Colosseum.
After lunch you'll have a guided walking tour through the most famous classic monuments of the city: Spanish steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Navoana square with its beautiful Bernini's fountain of the four rivers.
Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 - Christian Rome & Basilicas
After breakfast, transfer to the Vatican City to visit the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel. Among all important masterpieces. Here we can see Rachael's Rooms, Borgia apartments, art Gallery with Chandeliers, Tapestriesand Geographical Maps, the hall of the Greek Cross, chapel of Nicholas V. The round hall, the library hall. Our visit continue to the Basilica of St. Peter, to admire Michelangelo's Pieta' After lunch you will have a guided visit to the major basilicas of Rome. Saint Mary Major, the holy cross of Jerusalem, and Saint John in Lateran. Dinner at the hotel and overnight.

Day 4 - Naplesd & Pompei / Sorernto
After breakfast. Departure to Naples you will arrive in this picturesque city, sloped down from the hills towards the sea like an amphitheatre. Bounded on one side by Vesuvius and on the other by the Phlegraean fields, the result is a scenario of extraordinary beauty, sung by poets and writers down through the ages: Virgil, Boccaccio, Milton, Shelley, Cervants, Goethe, Bryan… Orientation tour of the city and free time of taste the best "pizza" and" espresso caffe" of the world. Proceed to Pompei and visit of the ruins of the "frozen" city. After lunch your tour will continue with the visit of "the Pompeian Camp": the Sanctuary of our Lady of the Rosary.
Continue south to reach Sorrento

Day 5
After breakfast you will embark to Capri. On arrival, weather permitting, you will enjoy a visit of Blue Grotto, by rowing boasts. On the way back from the harbour of Marina Grange, we will go to Anacapri, a tiny and picturesque Mediterranean-style village with a wonderful view of the Gulf of Naples.
Lunch break in a typical restaurant. After, free time at disposal to wonder about the celebrated "Piazzetta" and the characteristic streets of this little town. In the late afternoon you will be picked up back to your hotle in Sorrento
Dinner and overnight

Day 6
Early morning departure to San Giovanni Rotondo. One of the most renowned pilgrimage destinations in Europe because of the extraordinary life reputation for sanctify of the Franciscan Padre Pio da Pietrelciana, who lived laboured and died here. Room location upon arrival and lunch at hotel.
In the afternoon, visit the convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie where Padre Pio lived. After this inspirational time, it would be possible to celebrate holy mass at the of Padre Pio. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 7 - Lanciano & Loreto
After breakfast, departure towards the Abruzzo region. At one time part of the Papal States. (2.5 hrs travel) to reach lancaino, site of an Eucharistic miracle. During mass celebrated by a priest torn by doubts that Christ was really present in the Eucharist, the host turned into flesh and the wine into blood. Visit of the church of the miracle.

After lunch continue nord to reach Loreto in the Marche region. This is one of Italy's leading pilgrimage sites, where local tradition says angels moved the house that had been the holy Family's house in Nawareth. Room allocation, dinner and overnight.

Day 8 - Subiaco & Rome
After breakfast, departure towards Rome 3 hours drive) to reach the little village of Subiaco. We will spend half day in this mystic place where St. Benedict (5th century) chose to spend of prayer and meditation. Visit the monasteries of St. Scholastica and St. Benedict. Free time for lunch
Late in the afternoon, continue towards Rome (1.5 hrs drive)

Day 9 - Departure

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to return home
