Logos Study Tour at Dan

Shalom Haverim!

Let's relish some of our many, many highlights. Remember that first day?

As Dr. Creasy said, :"You ate breakfast at home, had dinner by the Sea of Galilee
and now, at the first site of our Logos Study Tour, we will be reading Scripture right
where Jesus taught."

View from the Church of the Beatitudes

In the words of our youngest member, eighteen-year-old Jason, "It is truly amazing to be sitting here reading the Bible, reading the words spoken where I'm sitting. Reading the Sermon on the Mount now, I realize that the answers to some of my questions are right here."

Below, Christine is reading Matthew 5 on the balcony of the Church of the Beatitudes.

Take a look at the portraits at Mount Arbel . We had to be careful not to fly off the
cliff after Dr. Creasy laid out the timeline of Jesus' journeys around Galilee . Ellen
was inspired to demonstrate yoga positions, while others, like the Runyan family, posed for posterity.

The Runyan Family in the Holy Land

As Josh Runyan put it, "It was wonderful to be able to come to Israel as a family. In the quickly passing years we have together with our growing children, we try to create some family history with our vacations together. What better way to do this than to see the history of our faith."

Singing where Jesus walked to the Temple

Sunday devotions led by Pastor Kyle took place on the original 2,000-year-old sidewalk tread by pilgrims about to "go up" to the Temple. We sat beneath the "pinnacle" where the devil taunted Jesus (Matt 4), saw the cornerstone with the niche where the priests stood to blow the trumpets announcing the Sabbath and joined the Song Committee (Jenny, Mary Beth, Terri, Cathie and Liz) in singing "City of God ."

The photos are organized in two categories - highlights at sites arranged chronologically and portraits of tour members with commentary. Take a look!

Please share these photos with your spouses, friends, grandchildren, colleagues
and fellow Logos students. I'd love to hear your reactions and receive more commentary. My email is: itsgila@yahoo.com .

'Til we meet again, Shalom Haverim!
