Lynn Ross,
"I am leaning against an olive tree in a small, private
garden, part of the Garden of Gethsemane. It is much smaller
than it was in Jesus' day. The birds are singing and there is
a light breeze blowing. I am writing in my journal and these
are some of the thoughts that came to me.
I am where
my Lord was, maybe in the same spot on that night so long ago.
Would I have stayed awake and prayed with him? What kind of
disciple would I have been? What kind of disciple am I now?
Am I truly committed? Do I only talk the talk, yet think I walk
the walk?
Lord, speak to my heart. Help me honestly look inside myself
and see what you see. May there be no pretense or sham. May
I be a true follower of you. Psalm 26:2-3 comes to mind. It
says: Test me, O Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind;
for your love is ever before me, and I walk continually in your
truth."
