Logistics for visiting the first Jerusalem and the City of David

Rest rooms are still scarce in the original Jerusalem. Before you arrive, it's a good idea to use the facilities at the Western Wall or (if you've just visited the Ophel excavations) the Davidson Center.)

The "City of David Visitors Center" controls the site. Telephone: (02)6262341. Open Sunday - Thursday 09:00 -16:00, Friday and holiday eves, 09:00 - 13:00. Closed on Sabbaths and Jewish holidays. Leave enough time to complete the tour (e.g. Hezekiah's tunnel) before closing.

For Hezekiah's Tunnel, be prepared to walk fifty minutes in water, sometimes waist-deep. You will need footwear and a flashlight.
