1 Kings 9:15
Now this is the account of the forced labor which
King Solomon levied to build the house of the LORD, his own house, the Millo,
the wall of Jerusalem, Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.
Acts 21:8
On the next day we left and
came to Caesarea, and entering the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one
of the seven, we stayed with him.
Acts 25:23-27
So, on the next day when Agrippa
came together with Bernice amid great pomp, and entered the auditorium
accompanied by the commanders and the prominent men of the city, at the command
of Festus, Paul was brought in. Festus said, "King Agrippa, and
all you gentlemen here present with us, you see this man about whom all the
people of the Jews appealed to me, both at Jerusalem and here, loudly declaring
that he ought not to live any longer. But I found that he had
committed nothing worthy of death; and since he himself appealed to the
Emperor, I decided to send him. Yet I have nothing definite about
him to write to my lord. Therefore I have brought him before you all and
especially before you, King Agrippa, so that after the investigation has taken
place, I may have something to write. For it seems absurd to me
in sending a prisoner, not to indicate also the charges against him."
2 Kings 17:5-6
Then the king of
Assyria invaded the whole land and went up to Samaria and besieged it three
years.
In the ninth year
of Hoshea, the king of Assyria captured Samaria and carried Israel away into
exile to Assyria, and settled them in Halah and Habor, on the river of Gozan,
and in the cities of the Medes.
2Kings 23:29-30
In his days
Pharaoh Neco king of Egypt went up to the king of Assyria to the river
Euphrates. And King Josiah went to meet him, and when Pharaoh Neco saw him he
killed him at Megiddo. His servants drove his body in a chariot from Megiddo,
and brought him to Jerusalem and buried him in his own tomb.
Deuteronomy
11:10-17
"For the land, into which you
are entering to possess it, is not like the land of Egypt from which you came,
where you used to sow your seed and water it with your foot like a vegetable
garden. But the land into which you are about to cross to possess
it, a land of hills and valleys, drinks water from the rain of heaven,
a land for which the LORD your God cares; the eyes of the LORD your God are
always on it, from the beginning even to the end of the year.
"It shall come about, if you
listen obediently to my commandments which I am commanding you today, to love
the LORD your God and to serve Him with all your heart and all your soul, that
He will give the rain for your land in its season, the early and late rain,
that you may gather in your grain and your new wine and your oil. He
will give grass in your fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be
satisfied. Beware that your hearts are not deceived,
and that you do not turn away and serve other gods and worship them. Or
the anger of the LORD will be kindled against you, and He will shut up the
heavens so that there will be no rain and the ground will not yield its fruit;
and you will perish quickly from the good land which the LORD is giving you."

11:13-17

Chronicles 35:25
Then Jeremiah chanted a lament for
Josiah. And all the male and female singers speak about Josiah in their
lamentations to this day. And they made them an ordinance in Israel; behold, they are also written
in the Lamentations.
Luke 4:29
[A]nd they got up and drove Him out
of the city, and led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city had been
built, in order to throw Him down the cliff.
Luke
1:26-38
Now in the sixth month the
angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Nazareth, to
a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of David;
and the virgin's name was Mary. And coming in, he said to her,
"Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you." But she was
very perplexed at this statement, and kept pondering what kind of
salutation this was. The angel said to her, "Do not be afraid,
Mary; for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will
conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. He
will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God
will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign
over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end." Mary
said to the angel, "How can this be, since I am a virgin?" The
angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the
power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child
shall be called the Son of God. And behold, even your relative
Elizabeth has also conceived a son in
her old age; and she who was called barren is now in her sixth month. For
nothing will be impossible with God." And Mary said, "Behold, the bondslave of the Lord; may it be done to me according to
your word." And the angel departed from her.
Luke 4:14-31
And Jesus returned to Galilee
in the power of the Spirit, and news about Him spread
through all the surrounding district. And He began teaching
in their synagogues and was praised by all.
And He came to
Nazareth, where He had been brought up;
and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to
read. And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He
opened the book and found the place where it was written,
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He anointed Me to
preach the gospel to the poor.
He has sent Me to proclaim
release to the captives,
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set free those who are oppressed,
To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord."
And He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the
eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him. And He began to say
to them, "Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing." And
all were speaking well of Him, and wondering at the gracious words which were
falling from His lips; and they were saying, "Is this not Joseph's son?" And
He said to them, "No doubt you will quote this proverb to Me,
'Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we heard was done at Capernaum, do here in your hometown as
well.'" And He said, "Truly I say to you, no prophet is welcome in
his hometown. But I say to you in truth, there were many widows
in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up for three years and
six months, when a great famine came over all the land; and yet
Elijah was sent to none of them, but only to Zarephath,
in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a
widow. And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, but only
Naaman the Syrian." And all the
people in the synagogue were filled with rage as they heard these things; and
they got up and drove Him out of the city, and led Him to the brow of the hill
on which their city had been built, in order to throw Him down the cliff. But
passing through their midst, He went His way.
And He came down to Capernaum,
a city of Galilee.
Hosea 5:1
Hear this, O priests!
Give heed, O house of Israel!
Listen, O house of the king!
For the judgment applies to you,
For you have been a snare at Mizpah
And a net spread out on Tabor.
Matthew 17:1-13
Six days later Jesus took with
Him Peter and James and John his brother, and led them up on a high mountain by
themselves. And He was transfigured before them; and His face shone
like the sun, and His garments became as white as
light. And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with
Him. Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here; if
You wish, I will make three tabernacles here, one for You, and one for Moses,
and one for Elijah." While he was still speaking, a bright cloud
overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud said, "This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!" When the disciples heard this, they
fell face down to the ground and were terrified. And Jesus came to them
and touched them and said, "Get up, and do not be afraid." And
lifting up their eyes, they saw no one except Jesus Himself alone.
As they were coming down from
the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, "Tell the vision to no one until
the Son of Man has risen from the dead." And His disciples asked
Him, "Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?" And
He answered and said, "Elijah is coming and will restore all things; but
I say to you that Elijah already came, and they did not recognize him, but did
to him whatever they wished. So also the Son of Man is going to suffer at their
hands." Then the disciples understood that He had spoken to them
about John the Baptist.
John 2:1-11
On the third day there was a
wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there; and both Jesus and His disciples
were invited to the wedding. When the wine ran out, the mother of
Jesus said to Him, "They have no wine." And Jesus said to her,
"Woman, what does that have to do with us? My hour has not yet come." His
mother said to the servants, "Whatever He says to you, do
it." Now there were six stone waterpots
set there for the Jewish custom of purification, containing twenty or thirty
gallons each. Jesus said to them, "Fill the waterpots
with water." So they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them,
"Draw some out now and take it to the headwaiter." So they took it to
him. When the headwaiter tasted the water which had become
wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the
water knew), the headwaiter called the bridegroom, and said to
him, "Every man serves the good wine first, and when the people have
drunk freely, then he serves the poorer wine; but you have
kept the good wine until now." This beginning of His signs
Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory, and His disciples
believed in Him.
Matthew 4:12-20
Now when Jesus heard that John
had been taken into custody, He withdrew into Galilee; and leaving
Nazareth, He came and settled in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region
of Zebulun and Naphtali. This
was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet:
"The land of Zebulun and the
land of Naphtali,
By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles-
"The people who were sitting in darkness saw a great Light,
And those who were sitting in the land and shadow of
death,
Upon them a Light dawned."
From that time Jesus began to
preach and say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
Now as Jesus was walking by the
Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon who was called Peter, and Andrew his
brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. And
He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." Immediately
they left their nets and followed Him.
