In the Footsteps of St. Paul

Day 1: Thessaloniki
Arrive at Thessaloniki airport, meet and assist. Transfer to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Phillipi - Kavala
Breakfast. Depart to Phillippi, named after Phillip of Macedonia, father of Alexander the Great. The city was visited by St. Paul together with Silas and Timothy. Continue to Kavala (the Neapolis of Acts 16). Visit the remains of the city. Continue to the Baptismal site of Lydia, the first European Christian woman. Back to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Thessaloniki - Kalambaka
Breakfast. A tour through the second largest city of Greece will take us to the Church of Agios Demetrios and Agia Sophia. Pass through the remains of the roman period ruins which recall the presence of St. Paul (Acts 17). Pass by the Galerius Arch and the White Tower.
Continue to Pella, the birthplace of Alexander the Great and then on to Vergina to visit the famous museum that houses the Macedonian Dynasty Royal Tombs. Our passing through Veria (Beroea of the Acts) will recall the ministry of St. Paul in this important city. Continue to Kalambaka for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Kalambaka - Delphi
Breakfast. Visit the beautiful and strange geographical formation of this region, formed by hanging rocks on top of which several Byzantine monasteries were built between the IX and the XII centuries. Visit two of those monasteries still reflecting the real monastic life of the middle ages. Continue to Delphi. Arrive to our hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Delphi - Athens
Breakfast. Visit the impressive archaeological site on the slopes of Mount Parnassos, associated with the mythology and history of the "Oracle".
Visit the Sanctuary and the Doric Temple of Apollo, the Sacred Way, the Theatre and the Stadium. Visit also the Kastalian Fountain and the Sanctuary of Athena. Visit also to the local museum that houses, beside important findings, the well preserved Charioteer. Depart to Athens. Arrive, dinner and overnight at our hotel.

Day 6: Athens
Breakfast. Ascend to the Sacred Rock and Mars Hill to visit the Acropolis (the Upper City) complex which contains the famous Parthenon, the Aeropagus where St. Paul stood and talked about the Unknown God.
Visit also the Museum and other important monuments. Then an orientation tour will take us through the Parliament, the University and National Library, the Olympic Stadium, the Presidential Mansion and other significant monuments of the Capital of Greece. Back to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Argolida Region
Breakfast. Leave to Corinth and stop to see its famous Canal considered one of the 7 wonders of the modern world. Continue to Ancient Corinth where the Apostle spend quite a long period of time working as a tents maker. Walk through the ruins of the Old City and visit its museum. Proceed to Epidavros to visit the best preserved theatre of Greece (3rd. c. BC).
Then continue to Mycenae, once the most powerful in Greece up to 1100 BC. when it was destroyed by fire. Visit the Acropolis entering through the Lion Gate. Back to Athens for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: FREE DAY OR AN OPTIONAL CRUISE TO The Saronic Islands
Breakfast. Transfer to Faliro Port to board our ship for a full day cruise to three of the beautiful Saronic Gulf Islands: Aegina, Poros and Hydra. Each one with a special character. There is time at each Island for local visit. A lunch will be served on board.
Back to our port, transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Athens - Country of origin
Breakfast. Transfer to Athens airport.
