HYDRA

Known with this name since the ancient times. The Island had reached its utmost prosperity during the 17th and 18th centuries with the creation of the maritime fleet. The port is still famous up to our days around which are built the piled white houses giving to the Island one of its special characteristics. The most visited monuments are the churches dedicated to the Prophet Elijah, St. Nicholas and St. Matrona and Triada.
